Welcome to Building and Neighborhood Compliance

The Miami-Dade Building and Neighborhood Compliance (BNC) Department issues building permits for projects in unincorporated Miami-Dade County and the City of West Miami. The new department expansion now includes the functions of the former Building Code Compliance Office and the department of Neighborhood Compliance (formerly TeamMetro).

Building permits are issued by different building jurisdictions. Each city has its own building official who issues building permits for work within that city's limits.

    • To view or obtain copies of the original building plans of a home or commercial property, schedule an appointment Monday through Friday during the hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    • Inspections depend on what is involved in the project. Simply stated, an inspection is required prior to covering up any part of the construction.
